East Cardiff water supply

St Teilo’s has remained open safely this morning, which has been of particular benefit to those sitting their GCSE Mathematics. However, for technical reasons beyond our control, the additional water supply which was due to be provided by Dwr Cymru via tankers is no longer available.

I have therefore taken the decision to close the school with immediate effect.

School buses and taxis have been rearranged. Those children that can safely make their way home should do so. The school will provide additional transport to any children requiring it.

Our colleagues at Dwr Cymru – who have been working tirelessly since the early hours – are very hopeful that the school will have a water supply by tomorrow.

I will ensure that I communicate with families early so that there is absolute clarity on the matter of school closure.
