HPV Vaccine (first dose ‘catch up’)

The School Nursing Immunisation Team will be visiting St Teilo’s on  17 March 2023 and 24 March 2023 to administer the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. Some children are yet to receive their first dose of the HPV vaccine in school and the parents of these children will be contacted directly by SMS message.

There is an opportunity for the first dose HPV vaccine to be ‘caught up’ by those selected children in Years 9, 10 and 11. The second dose will be administered during the next academic year.

The vaccine helps to protect a person from being infected by the Human Papillomavirus. This virus increases the risk of developing some cancers later in life such as cervical cancer, some mouth and throat cancers and some cancers of the anus and genital area. It also helps protect against genital warts. The HPV vaccine does not protect against other sexually transmitted infections.

If you would like your child to receive the HPV vaccine please provide consent by clicking here to complete an E-consent form.

Please complete the form even if you do not wish you child to receive the vaccination.  The deadline for submission of consent is 11 March 2023.

It is essential that you provide a valid email address when completing the E-consent form in order to receive correspondence and a confirmation receipt from the immunisation team.
