New Headteacher for St Teilo’s

On behalf of the Governors, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Loynd as the next Headteacher of St Teilo’s Church in Wales High School. Mr Loynd’s appointment follows the retirement of Mrs Ceri Weatherall at the end of this academic year in August 2019. Mr Loynd will take up his new post on 1st September.

Mr Loynd was appointed following a robust and rigorous interview process in which he clearly demonstrated the qualities and skills that the Governing Body are looking for in the next leader of our school.

Mr Loynd is currently our Deputy Headteacher and so will be familiar to many of you. He joined St Teilo’s as a newly qualified maths teacher in 2005. In the years following he has grown and developed through the many roles he has undertaken. The Governors are confident that under Mr Loynd’s leadership, we will continue to deepen our mission of ‘Excellence, Equity and Faith’ so that we might all ‘be fully the person God is calling us to be’.

Mr Loynd is a confirmed Anglican and takes an active role in his local parish church and in the wider Church in Wales.

The Governors would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported us in the appointment process.

We are extremely grateful for Mrs Weatherall’s outstanding contribution to our school and look forward to celebrating this later in the term.
