‘Students celebrate record GCSE results at St Teilo’s’
St Teilo’s Church in Wales High School is again celebrating improved examination results. With an overall pass rate of 99% A*-G and 91% A*-C, pupils from Year 11 have attained the highest outcomes yet.
The school has made significant strides forward in almost all measures, adding 21% to outcomes in English Language, 14% in Science and 5% in Mathematics. The school’s Capped Points Score has increased by 42 points and the central measure which includes English, Mathematics and three other qualifications has increased by 3%.
Among the many pupils celebrating are Rabaa Abbo and Rayan Cherif (Year 11) who attained 10 GCSE A* grades and Oliver Smith and Nada Ammar (Year 10) who attained 4 GCSE A* grades in examinations sat a year early. Other notable achievements include Ahmer Hussain, Anne Evans and Sala Fadelallah who each attained 9 A* grades, Simeon Goringe and Esraa Fahmy who attained 8 A* grades and Jezreel Penuliar, Anna McFarlane and Jasmine Swingler who attained 7 A* grades.
Headteacher, Ceri Weatherall said, “I am delighted that so many of our learners are celebrating today and that they have attained the qualifications needed to make the important next step in their lives.
