Year 11 Next Steps

Excellence, Equity, Faith: The Sixth Form Vision

The sixth form at St Teilo’s Church in Wales High School is built on a foundation of over 50 years of extensive experience in the sector.  We are an inclusive sixth form in every sense, underpinned by our Christian ethos, beliefs and values. Our sixth form students join us from both the city of Cardiff and beyond, from a wider range of schools with differing abilities, faith and backgrounds.  All are welcome here.

The sixth form at St Teilo’s Church in Wales High School has an enviable reputation for quality. First-rate learning facilities and specialist A Level and post-16 teaching, administrative and pastoral staff ensure that we provide students in the sixth form with the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential.

We are fully aware that given the impact of Covid-19 on the way we lead our lives, post-16 education will face unprecedented challenges over the coming months with providers relying on ‘blended learning’ in September. With students requiring both face to face and online learning opportunities, we are in a hugely fortunate position that, unlike larger institutions, our bespoke package of learning, small class sizes and the positive and personalised relationships staff have with learners will result in us being able to provide all of the support and guidance necessary to ensure that our sixth form students’ education and wellbeing is not disadvantaged by circumstances outside of their control.

We are delighted that you are considering the sixth form at St Teilo’s Church in Wales High School as the next step in your academic career. The information sheets below will give you an overview of the subjects available to study with us, as well as the academic requirements necessary to follow the course.
