Church (Section 50) Inspection

From the Headteacher

This week, St Teilo's will be subject to a Statutory Inspection of Church in Wales Schools under Section 50 of the Education Act 2005. Just like an Estyn school inspection, church school (or 'Section 50') inspections are a fantastic opportunity to gather some useful feedback about our school. The focus, however, will be on our Christian mission and the impact of our Gospel values on the flourishing of children.

We are fortunate to benefit from the insights of a very experienced school inspector from the Church of England, Allyson Taylor. She will spend two days with us on 19 and 20 September 2024, talking to leaders, teachers, staff, pupils, parents, governors and representatives of the church. At the end of her visit, she will provide feedback about all those things that are working well and provide suggestions about those things we can improve further.

School inspections are nothing to worry about and children will not notice anything different in the school day (it is business as usual). This is the best type of feedback that schools can receive and we are excited about the time Allyson will spend with us and with our fantastic pupils!

Of course, as soon as I receive our report, I will share it with you.

Mr I Loynd, Headteacher

Share your story

Whether you are Christian or not, your child or family may have benefitted from or been touched by the Christian mission at St Teilo's. Perhaps staff have gone above and beyond to support your child when times were tough? Maybe you have received support from our food charity, Puffins? If you would like to share your experience with our inspector, we would love to hear from you.
