New arrangements for reporting absence

In June 2023, Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Jeremy Miles said, "Improving school attendance must been seen as a national priority [...] There is a well-established link between attendance, attainment and wellbeing. My priority, above all else, is to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Tackling learner absence is key to this."

St Teilo's is committed to ensuring that every child's right to an education is realised as fully as possible. This means that our own processes for managing and monitoring absence must be simplified.

On the rare occasion that a child is absent from school, parents and carers must now report this online here. Only absences reported in this way will be considered for authorisation by the Headteacher.
