Travel update
Access to the school site
Parents and carers are reminded that there is no access to the school site after 2pm. It is essential that staff are able to manage the site safely as children and buses depart. Parents and carers must park legally and safely on the roads surrounding the school.
In the mornings, parents and carers may access the site using the safe drop-off zone and one way system. Arrival must be by 8.30am ready for a 8.40am start.
Closure of New Road
The school has been informed that New Road, Rumney, will be closed for three weeks from 7 April 2025. This means that the R116 bus service will be diverted along Wentloog Road, stopping at registered bus stops.

Active travel
As the weather improves, the school again encourages young people to walk and cycle to school when possible (or use public transport instead of the car). The school has ample storage for bicycles although a good bike lock will be required. Walking and cycling has obvious health benefits for growing children but there is also a social and emotional benefit - many young people tell us that active travel provides important 'catch up' time with peers. You can find active travel routes here and contact the local authority Active Travel Team here for advice and guidance.
General reminders
School transport is provided by Cardiff Council. St Teilo's is serviced by a combination of contracted and commercially operated school bus services and you will need to discuss your individual circumstances with the school transport team.
All young people using school transport are subject to the Wales Travel Behaviour Code.
Adventure Travel currently serve all St Teilo's bus routes. You can remind yourself of their expectations here.
