Extreme heat warning

From the Headteacher

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning of extreme heat for Cardiff from Monday 22 June 2026 to Thursday 25 June 2026.

We anticipate that the temperature this week will rise above 30 degrees outside, feeling significantly hotter inside. Whilst there is much we can do to mitigate warm weather, it will be an uncomfortable few days. Please do encourage your child to wear cool school uniform (such as school t-shirt, school shorts or school skort), apply sunscreen before school and drink plenty of water.

Act now

Please remind yourself of the school's approach to adverse weather here and take action now.

Water safety

Accidental drowning is a real and present risk for young people who seek to play in water (such as rivers and reservoirs) on hot days. Please ensure that you speak with your child about water safety before they spend time out with their friends. You can find helpful information from the Canal and River Trust here.
