Patronal Festival
This Friday, we celebrate St Teilo’s Day – our patronal festival. Teilo taught us ‘to heal, and not to injure’ and, as a school, we traditionally observe St Teilo’s Day by celebrating our culture, diversity and identity.
Non-uniform
Friday will be a non-uniform day. We are asking students to wear something that speaks to their culture, heritage or identity. It might be cultural attire, religious apparel, a uniform, a sports kit, a t-shirt from their favourite band – anything that reveals something about them, their interests and what matters most to them.
Show and tell
Students are invited to bring to school any interesting cultural items or objects. This might be something connected to your family or may simply be an item that speaks to your child's sense of self.
Global foods
Lunch will be free of charge on Friday. It is our gift to students. We’ll be eating dishes from across the globe.
Activities
Volunteer students will be representing different countries at information stations and there will be a whole school quiz to test the knowledge that students have garnered during the day.
Familia Teliavi
Familia Teliavi ('Teilo's family') refers to the monastic community established by St Teilo in the 6th century. Today, or community is Familia Teliavi - and what a wonderfully diverse and beautiful family it is!
